Porting all done, matching up the intake was a prick, whoever made the casting patterns for the head screwed up a little on their shrinkage calcs - head was a bit too long, meaning the outer ports were further apart than they should be. Head had also core shifted towards one end. Revised port designs that flow over better than that of the factory port heads with potential for much higher flow figures when professionally ported. I was reading about someone converting a volvo modular 16v head years ago and thought if the bore spacing and some oil and water passages match up then possibly some other heads might fit my beloved cast iron boat anchor. That engine has been bugging me for months now. Holden gained engine building experience during WW when it manufactured both aeroplane, boat and torpedo engines for the war effort.
