Smog towers are structures designed as large-scale air purifiers to reduce air pollution particles. It was later installed in Tianjin and Krakow. It is under testing by researchers at the Institute of Earth Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The functioning of the SMOG FREE TOWER has been validated by professor Dr.
Bert Blocken of the Eindhoven University of Technology and is successfully implemented in South Korea, China, the Netherlands and Poland. It is a structure of concrete that has multiple layers of filters. The size of this structure would be feet in height and feet on each side. SMOG Tower - What is a smog tower ? To counter the growing air pollution, Smog Tower has been installed at Lajpat Nagar Market, in South Delhi.
The tower is made up of bricks, fitted with air purifiers that can treat close to Lakh cubic meters of air per day. By charging the Smog Free Tower with a small positive current, an electrode will send positive ions into the air. These ions will attach themselves to fine dust particles. In collaboration with Studio Roosegaarde, ENS Clean Air designed the first Smog Free Tower in the world. The meter high tower cleans 30.
The tower uses ENS’s patented positive ionization technology to capture fine dust and transform it into coarse dust.
